Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Electrocardiogram (ECG) is an essential part of cardiovascular examination. Although the duration of the test is short, the information that the cardiologist can extract about the heart condition is numerous and important.
The severity of various arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmias, extrasystoles, bradyarrhythmias, is recorded and evaluated. With the help of ECG we can diagnose rare syndromes that often cause sudden deaths in young people.
Based on the findings of the electrocardiogram we can proceed to the rest of the cardiovascular examination and perform more specialized tests to confirm the electrocardiographic findings (such as echocardiogram, treadmill stress test, rhythm holter, coronary angiography, electrophysiological study etc).
